Vendredi, mars le 14me

Hello! Can everyone hear me?

...wow, I felt sort of nerdy just then.

But the point is that Dad gave my blog address to some folks, and now I think my audience of three has become an audience of six. Cookies and congratulations for all of you, that's a 100% increase in my readership!

Anyway, to business.

First of all, I have changed my preferences and hopefully now you do NOT need a google id to comment. Just be sure to leave your name or something so I know who you are.

Secondly...dude, 12 days.

Today was the last day of regular classes, and at coffee hour with Kristin and Nicky (Justin came today too...) I found out that we had all google-mapped our host family's addresses, and this made me feel less like a creepy stalker. Here is what I found out:

The avenue de Trillade is half a mile or so from the university (walking distance w00t!) and number 34 where Danielle lives is...an L-shaped building. Yeah, problem with satellite photo is that you can only see the roof. It's got a brown roof. And there's a swimming pool that either belongs to the L-shaped building where I'll be living, or else to the building next door.

Still, this is more than I knew before, so it's something. I'm still trying to work up the nerve to email Danielle. Guess I'll copy and paste parts of my so-called "host family letter" in an email and see what happens.

I also got emailed from EdAbroad and glomped at to give them more paperwork (as if I haven't given them my signature enough ALREADY,) so I've got to track down a xerox machine and give them a copy of my passport. Registered with the embassy today, so there's not much left to do but pack.

Gag, what a task. And this from someone who could be happy for eleven weeks with four pairs of jeans and a couple t-shirts and a sweater. I am not (you all know me...) one of those gals who frets about what she's wearing, but it just feels like too daunting a task to worry about until after finals.

Finals can be my Non-F-Word paragraph today, I guess.

Today I did busy work for pretty much all my classes and got my Classical Mythology paper out of the way. This leaves the weekend open to write my French composition (5 pages, no problem, it'll just take time I could be using to study for my Monday 8:00 AM final.) and study for the aforementioned 8:00 AM Monday final. That'd be abnormal psych, and so I'll be spending anywhere from a few to several hours reading about Freud and Wolpe, Dollard and Miller, psychoses neuroses and all that other fun stuff. I have now started to diagnose people on television thanks to that class, and it's semi-cool, semi-intrusive, since I now can't watch anyone on television without analyzing their every word.

Feel like this is long enough for a pre-takeoff post.
Still no word from Margauld. Maybe she's on vacation? Or maybe she just thinks I'm dull.
12 days!

Just testing the fact that I can, indeed post a comment.

(comment, comment, comment)

Good luck in France! I'll miss you.

I have a copier if you still need one. And it is free. But if you already copied it then I guess I'm not much help.
